Presidents Office at the White House Print
Item Details
Beautiful landscape print titled ‘The Presidents Office at the White House’, signed by Kentucky artist, C.G. Morehead, 1969, a Limited Edition of 1500. This print depicts the Oval Office at the White House. Professionally framed under glass with an ivory mat and mounted in a nice wood frame. In September, 1969, with permission from the Office of the President B. Lyndon Johnson, Morehead set up his easel and canvas beneath a Linden Tree, just South of the West Wing and started painting, ‘The President’s Office at the White House.’ It was the first of four trips to Washington. This Oval Office, with french doors opening onto a colonnade which faces the Rose Garden, was added to the West Wing in 1909. The dignity of the White House is enchanted by the natural beauty of it’s meticulously manicured grounds. Many of the trees are of historical interest. The painting was completed in 1969, after President Richard Nixon became president.
