A vintage hand-knotted Persian Mashhad Mahavallat wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of apricot, indigo, ivory, rust, powder blue, wheat, fern, and mulberry. The apricot hued field begins with a Mahavallat double pendant medallion that is ornately designed with floral and foliate motifs, which coordinate with the indigo grounded spandrels. Floral filled vases, and floral sprays populate the field as well. Framing the field is a indigo to sapphire grounded main stylized herati border, along with floral meander guard borders, and a minor carnation meander border. Finishing this rug are wrapped edges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
