A sterling silver julep cup by Reed and Barton, commemorating 1972 Kentucky Derby winner Riva Ridge. Riva Ridge, ridden by Ron Turcotte and trained by Lucien Lauren, went on to win the Belmont Stakes. The cup features a banded rim and base with beaded accents and is marked as sterling along with the maker’s name, initials RMN and style designation X 253. The approximate weight of the julep cup is 5.105 ozt.
