Item Details

A World War II era Japanese katana with tang markings. The blade tip is a Chu tip style and appears to be older. The tang has three holes with two added later (see photographs for markings). It comes with the original scabbard for safe keeping. The scabbard shows its age and has a 1.5’ split at the top but still maintains its integrity. It is missing the lanyard loop and tassle and one peg. It has a full ‘rain pattern’ habaki. This has the standard WWII pommel of metal construction with pebbling and flowers in front and back. There are seven spacers and/or Tsubas. The handle has a cloth binding over ray skin.
