An antique Victorian era sewing bird designed and patented by Charles Waterman. This table top pin cushion is in the form of a bird with intricate details to the wings and body with remnants of a cushion to the top of the bird’s body. The bird rests atop a table clamp, with a stamped floral motif to the clamp sides. Marked to the wings ‘Patent’ and ‘Feb 1853’.
