An untitled acrylic painting on woodby Cincinnati-based artist Kevin White, created in 2014. This work features a large curvaceous form rendered in the artist’s trademarks style with winding trails of dotted and dashed lines and large brushstrokes against a pale pink ground. The composition is unsigned and remains unframed with hanging wire to the verso. It is titled, dated, and inscribed to the verso.
Kevin White works within his own studio space in the Visionaries+Voices Northside Studio. This area evolves and changes daily as Kevin’s creations take over and alter the immediate environment that surrounds him in a riot of color and pattern. He incorporates pop cans, cardboard, fabric and other materials into multi-dimensional found object sculptures and paintings. Using dots and line to meticulously describe animals, people and their environments, Kevin’s work is a close visual link to the designs created by Australian Aboriginal Tribes. Though varied in color, texture and form his art maintains an entirely cohesive look and style through the repeated patterns and motifs.
