A 1990 ceramic sculpture titled ’Babe’s Diner’ by Jerry Berta. This work, created from painted cast ceramic and chrome, features clear and white neon lights above, reading “Babe’s Diner”, and is in the form of a 1950s diner, lighting up in colors of light blue, orange, white and red. The ceramic body is hand-painted in hues of royal blue, silver and white on a grey base. It is signed and dated on the back “Jerry Berta/1990”. The piece is wired and the light is functional. Berta is known for his whimsical, collectible ceramic sculptures incorporating mixed media, neon, and metals.
