An original vintage oil painting on canvas board by well-listed American painter Georgie Read Barton (New York, 1902 – 1994), titled Autumn Gold. The painting depicts a stream cutting through forested foothills coated in bright autumn leaves. The painting is signed to the lower right, titled on a label to the verso, and presented in a wooden frame with white and gold tone finishes and a hanging wire.

Barton studied at the Art Students League in New York and went on to serve as Director of Art at the Ottawa Ladies College. She was best-known for her realistic landscapes such as this one, and was a member of the Hudson Valley Art Association and the Salmagundi Club.
