Adam Maloney works on everyday found surfaces and creates what he refers to as ‘Pop Romanticism’, using an array of highly accessible materials. Some of the various reoccurring themes in his work include classic 1980s video games, pop culture eroticism, and even terrorism. Maloney also creates audio compositions which are accessible on the Internet, allowing him to each a wider audience. The artist explains that he prefers exhibiting his work in public spaces to communicate with an audience beyond the art world community, as he believes art should be a necessity rather than an exclusive luxury.
‘Like Robert Rauschenberg, I subscribe to the notion that art, culture, and science are united in a single philosophy of life.’ – Adam Maloney
