An original acrylic painting on canvas by Cincinnati artist Elizabeth O’Neill (1930 – 2018). The painting depicts an abstract composition made of energetic swoops of paint in shades of black, white, and yellow. The painting is signed in ink to the upper left. It is presented in a wooden frame with a white acrylic finish.

Elizabeth O’Neill was born in Cleveland, Ohio and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from St. Mary of the Woods College in Indiana. After furthering her education with graduate work at the Cleveland and Chicago Art Institutes and Northern Illinois University, she spent twelve years teaching art to inner-city high school students in Chicago. ‘There,’ she says, ‘I learned the grassroots of humanity and found expression to be a saving factor.’
