A circa 1865 Staffordshire reclining man with dog match safe. The figurine depicts a young man with black hair in a cape holding a walking stick. He is in repose on the ground with dog at his side. The match safe is colored in greens, rust and gilt with red, blue, black and brown highlights. It has a combination of glossy and satin glazes and is unmarked.
