An original vintage gouache on burlap to board attributed to Jose Maria de Servin (1917 – 1983). The whimsical painting depicts a young boy in bold tones of orange, ocher, blue and brown, signed by hand to the upper right and presented unframed. Jose Maria de Servin was born in the United States but moved to Guadalajara Mexico at a young age. He was one of the Young Painters of Jalisco and his work in collaborated with Merciful Jose Orozco can be found in the Legislative Palace of Guadalajara, Jalisco. In 1967 he was appointed a Life Member of Friends of the Mexican Art of the Art Museum in Phoenix, Arizona and named artistic Adviser of the House of the Crafts of Jalisco in 1969.
