A limited edition lithograph on paper titled Daphne I by well-listed Surrealist artist Salvador Dalí (1904-1989). This work depicts the mythical figure of Daphne transforming into a laurel tree with a floral bouquet head. A ship is rendered the background as a figure stand in the distance to the left. This work is signed by hand to the lower right corner and is numbered 108 out of an edition of 350. It is presented in a white mat.

Dalí was born in Figueres, Spain to Salvador Dalí y Cusi, a lawyer and notary, and Felipa Domenech Ferres. His mother encouraged his artistic pursuits a eccentricities. In 1922 Dalí enrolled at the Academia de San Fernando in Madrid, Spain. It was during this time that he went to Paris started interacting with Picasso, Magritte, and Miro leading to his first Surrealist phase. Dalí is best known for his Surrealist painting, drawing, photography, and sculptures. His works are housed in many private collections and museums across the globe.
