Item Details
A selection of vintage Devonware and Torquay Motto Ware English pottery. Offered are plates, a creamer, a lidded coffee pot, and a double handled vase. The pieces are made from the local red clay found in the Devon region of England and have been glazed with a solid white background and hand painted images. They depict farm houses and trees with blue and brown trim with various mottos including ’Don’t worry it may never happen’ and ‘One today is worth two tomorrows’. The pieces feature their maker’s marks to the undersides, some with plate hangers attached.
