An Empire style marquetry chest of drawers by Maitland-Smith. In a bow front design, this four drawer chest features a flamed walnut veneer surface with striped edge banding. The cabinet stiles include a multiple striped marquetry inlay to the spade feet. Each drawer also features a flamed walnut veneer panel with two contrasting wood inlay borders, and oval pulls. The design continues along the flamed mahogany side panels. Marked ‘Maitland-Smith.’
