John A. Ruthven Limited Edition Offset Lithograph "Ruddy Ducks"

A limited edition offset lithograph titled Ruddy Ducks by renowned wildlife artist John A. Ruthven (American, b. 1924). This offset lithograph Plate II on paper, depicts two little stiff-tailed Ruddy Ducks in the water. This limited edition is pencil marked 420/1000, and is both print signed and pencil signed below the art. The Ruddy Ducks is presented under glass in a dark distressed wood frame with white and bright blue mats. The reverse is marked ‘Clossons.’ It includes a rear wire and is ready to hang.

John A. Ruthven is a native Cincinnati, Ohio artist. This acclaimed artist is best known for his wildlife paintings, and is often referred to as the ‘20th century Audubon.’ Along with William Zimmerman he produced Top Flight, a field guide and speed index to North American waterfowl under the cooperation of various university ornithology departments. He was also awarded the National Medal of Arts in 2004.
