C. 1930s Rickenbacker Electro Lap Steel Electric Guitar

A circa 1930s pre-WWII era Rickenbacker Electro lap steel electric guitar. This six-string guitar features a black molded bakelite body and headstock with silver tone plates to the face; dot inlay to the black fingerboard; off-white volume and tone control knobs; and a silver tone adjustable height horseshoe pickup. The headstock is marked with a silver tone face plate marked “Rickenbacher”, the pre-WWII spelling of Rickenbacker. Rickenbacker was one of the earliest companies to succeed in manufacturing an electric guitar.
