South African Zulu Tribal Beer Baskets

A pair of contemporary South African Zulu baskets with a coiled basket. This selection features two tribal pieces, handwoven with indigenous materials and traditionally used to serve sorghum beer during ceremonies. Included is a black and white beer basket by Lindelani Sibiya with a conical lid, bulb shaped body, and embellished with a triangular motif throughout. Also offered is a tri-colored beer basket with a spherical body, a radiating pattern of vertical lines, and a conical lid, as well as an African-style coil basket in a natural finish. The vessel is unmarked.
