Vintage Kukri Knives
Item Details
A grouping of four kukri knives with decorative sheaths. Gurkhas, a Nepalese minority, used these knives, known as “kukri” in close quarters combat for disemboweling the enemy. They are also used as tools. The knives feature decorative wood handle with applied detailing. The sheaths feature ornate boldly coloured designs with sewn on detailing. Some of the knives feature small blades. The smaller blades were used for sharpening the larger blade. The largest blade present is marked ‘INDIA’, but all others are unmarked.
