Item Details
A hand-knotted Pakistani prayer rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in a palette of mauve, sapphire, and ivory and depicts a single mihrab with a stepped arch featuring a suspended chandelier with pendant lights. The field is embellished with rows of boxed eight-pointed stars above the mihrab and a pair of stylized columns beneath the chandelier. Each short end displays panels infilled with eight-pointed stars over ivory, while compound guard borders frame the field. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
