Item Details
An antique Terry & Andrews mahogany steeple-on-steeple shelf clock, circa 1850. The veneered case features a pointed, triangular crest above a conforming, glazed door flanked by two pairs of conical spires. The door tablet is reverse-painted with a spread-winged eagle and it opens to a white-painted, metal dial with black, Roman numeral markers. Directly below is a reverse-painted, pendulum-viewing door with a central reserve of doves and the clock rises on a molded base. The interior is fitted with a brass, time-and-strike movement and it retains a paper manufacturer’s label with instructions for setting and regulating the clock.
