Antique Ceremonial Sword for Fraternal Organization Knights of Sherwood Forest

Amazing antique ceremonial sword featuring symbology associated with a short lived fraternal organization called the Knights of Sherwood Forest. In many respects similar to a ceremonial Mason’s sword, it has an elk head engraved on the blade and the entwined letters KSF on the hilt, indicating the organization Knights of Sherwood Forest. Cruciform hilt, knight head on pommel. Original owner’s name engraved on blade. Sword maker or dealer name James Luker, 133 Grand St., New York engraved on reverse side just under hilt. Approximate date of manufacture c. 1886. Metal scabbard also boasts ornate detailing and appears to have all hardware intact.
Condition
Blade a little tarnished. Wooden grip has a few light scratches. It appears as though there is some tarnish remover in some of the crevices of metal parts on hilt.
Dimensions
Sword in scabbard is 36" long. Scabbard alone is 29" long and sword alone is 35" long. Blade itself is about 28.5" long. Hilt width is 4.5".
