Item Details

A group of six antique unframed maps of Asia or regions thereof. They include: Russia in Asia, engraved by J. Gibson, dated 1761 in pencil by a previous owner; Asia (circa mid-19th century, British); Asia with hand-tinted borders, engraved on the ‘Omnigraph’ by F.P. Becker & Co. (circa mid- to late 19th century, British); Hindoostand, or India with hand-tinted borders, from Walker’s Geography, dated 1808 in pencil; Southern Asia with hand-tinted borders (19th century British or American); and Asia drawn from the latest Astronomical Observations published 1808 by Robert Wilkinson of London, hand-tinted.

Condition

- normal paper discoloration; edge wear/minor tears to “Southern Asia”.
