Item Details
A Victorian style cherry wood secretary desk and hutch by Davis Cabinet Company. This hutch features a small hutch with carved serpentine pediment with turned finial accents and support columns, with pierced scrolling sidewalls. The secretary desk is topped with two small drawers over a slant front desk top, which folds down to reveal a workspace and divided storage compartments. The desk has three large lower drawers, the first, overhanging the last two with turned finials to the corners. All drawers have berry and foliate carved cub handles. The desk is labeled to the top drawer, ‘Made of Solid American Wild Cherry’ and labeled to the verso, ‘Davis Cabinet Company, Maker’s of Good Furniture, Stock No. 95 Desk, Collector’s Cherry Finish, Nashville, Tennessee.’
