A watercolor painting on paper signed ‘E.J. Fischer.’ This still life depicts a group of cut red roses lying on their sides. It is painted with washes of color to achieve a realistic value scale, and signed to the lower right. The piece is presented behind layered green and pink mats and glass in a gold tone wood frame with foliate gesso molding and wire to the verso for hanging.

Condition

- accretion under glass; discoloration to mats; cracks and pieces missing to decorative moulding; tear to paper backing.
