Antique Federal Mahogany Drop-Leaf Table, Early 19th Century
Item Details
An antique Federal mahogany drop-leaf table, early 19th century. The frame features a rectangular top flanked by a pair of hinged, drop leaves with scalloped corners above a straight apron with a single, hand-dovetailed drawer at one end. The drawer front is fitted with a brass knob before pine and poplar linings and the table rises on four ring-turned and rope-twisted legs ending in brass casters. The underside of the drawer retains a pencil inscription appearing to read ‘G R Austin / Edwards … / Pittsfield Mass’.
