A gelatin silver print photograph titled Imogen and Twinka at Yosemite by California based photographer Judy Dater (b. 1941), created in 1974. This work depicts a elderly photographer Imogen Cunningham (1883-1976) finding nude model Twinka Thiebaud (b. 1945) behind a tree. This work is signed by hand in graphite to the lower right corner. To the verso is an informative label from the Howard Greenberg Gallery. The photograph is mounted behind glass in a white mat and contemporary black frame. Hanging hardware is present to the verso.
Judy Dater was born in Hollywood, California in 1941. She was part of the west coast school of photography and took an interest in portraiture. Dater was influenced by Ansel Adams, Wynn Bullock, and Imogen Cunningham. Aside from photography Dater also teaches by conducting workshop and creating books.
