Vintage Roos Cedar Chest

Item Details

A vintage Roos cedar chest. The case features a rectangular, hinged lid with applied molding along the edges opening to a vacant interior. The exterior is fitted with wooden, lateral-mounted handles while the front is decorated with a pair of rectangular moldings surrounding studded, shield-shaped appliqués with a brass finish. There is also a shaped, brass-tone escutcheon and the chest rises on bracket feet ending in metal casters. The papered underside retains a round tag marked with a Rooster and ‘No. / Roos / 967 W. 20th St. Chicago.’
