An original oil painting on academy board by listed Indiana artist Francis Brown (1891 – 1971). This painting depicts a man propelling a gondola across an indistinct body of water, amidst the moored boats, and is loosely rendered in a rich jewel toned palette. This piece is signed in graphite to the lower left and is marked to the verso with a stamp from the artist’s estate. It is housed in a gold tone beveled wood frame with beaded trim and is ready to hang with a sawtooth bracket.
