Model of "Charles W. Morgan" Whaling Ship on Stand

Item Details

A wooden model of the whaling ship Charles W. Morgan. The Charles W. Morgan was built to harvest whale blubber in 1841 and retired to the Mystic Seaport Museum in Connecticut in 1941, where it remains as an exhibit today. The model reproduces the Morgan’s three-masted full sail rigging, with white railing and a black hull. The ship’s name appears as Charles Morgan to the aft of the ship and on a brass-toned plaque on the ship’s black painted wooden stand.
