A late 20th century watercolor painting on paper created by well-listed New England watercolor artist George Carpenter (American, 1928 – 2006). The piece depicts a sunlit New England coastal landscape scene, with a white waterfront cottage surrounded by trees, and a small wooden pier to the foreground. The work is rendered in a soft palette of blended brown, grey, green and blue earth tone hues. The painting is signed ‘Carpenter’ to the lower right. It is matted in cream and presented under glass in a wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

- slight billowing to paper; dust and accretions to glass and frame; wear, scratches and nicks to frame; minor wear to frame backing.
