A pair of antique oil paintings attributed to early American portrait and landscape painter Charles Andrew Foster (1817-1886). These highly detailed portraits depict a woman in a black dress with a white embroidered collar and hair pulled back in a simple style and a stoic man with a high collar, grayed hair, and a frown. One of the pieces is attributed to the verso, and both are presented unframed as stretched canvases.

- to Fair; accretion, discoloration, and wear to surfaces; craquelure and minor flaking to paint; light wear to edges and corners; blacklight suggests inpainting to approximately 10% of surfaces; discoloration to versos.
