An original oil painting on canvasboard by contemporary Cincinnati artist Rick Koehler, title Little Rowboat. The painting depicts a small white wooden rowboat. The boat floats in the center of a brilliant blue body of water and is tied to an object beyond the visible image area. The painting is signed to the lower left and is signed and titled to the verso. It is presented in a composite frame with brushed gold tone finish and a hanging wire attached to the verso.
Rick Koehler has spent most of his life as a designer; 38 of those years at the firm Architects Plus which he co-founded in 1979. He began his formal art training “at the youthful age of 61,” and quickly was accepted as a signature member of the Cincinnati Art Club. Currently his work is exhibited is galleries in Michigan and his home city of Cincinnati. Koehler enjoys plein air painting and is known for his depictions of streams, bridges, and shorelines.
