A sterling silver flatware service for twelve in Towle’s pattern Old Colonial. The pattern is unique having faceted bowls on the spoons and forks with scrolled foliate detailing and a classical urn and finial at the tip of the handle. The flatware set comprises; twelve modern hollow knives (8.75’) with stainless steel blades, twelve dinner forks (7.00’), twelve salad forks (6.25’), twelve soup spoons (7.25’), twenty-one teaspoons (5.50’), twelve demitasse spoons (4.00’), one sugar shell (5.75’), one pickle fork (6.00’), one cold meat fork (7.25’), two slightly different serving spoon (8.50’), one small sauce ladle (6.00’), one master butter knife with sterling blade (7.50’), one master butter knife with stainless steel blade, twelve individual butter knives with stainless steel blades and one pierced bonbon spoon. The set is presented in a storage box with a tarnish resistant lining and the total weight NOT to include the knives and butter knives with stainless blades is 88.250 ozt.
