An oil painting on canvas of a square rigged brig at sea. This piece depicts a ship on choppy water under a blue sky with a second ship sailing in the opposite direction in the distance. The painting appears to be signed faintly to the lower left and is mounted in a carved wooden frame with a painted gilt finish. The frame is wired for hanging.
Condition
- to fair; accretion throughout; craquelure to paint; tear in center of canvas; small area of paint loss in lower right area of sea; warping to canvas; minor scratches and wear to the frame.
