A 1977 Monfort Original ceramic sculpture titled The Herder after Boulder, Colorado sculptor Daniel Monfort (20th century). The piece depicts iconic Western actor John Wayne dressed as a cowboy and sitting atop a brown horse, leaning back to look over his shoulder. The work is signed, dated and titled in mold to the attached ceramic base. It is additionally marked with a ‘Monfort Original’ tag to the underside.

- to fair; chips to horse’s ear and figure’s vest; minor markings and wear.
