State House "Inaugural" Sterling Silver Flatware Set

A sterling silver flatware set by State House of Oneida. This is in the Grosvenor N. Allen and William H. Gerth designed Inaugural pattern, first introduced in 1942, which features a slightly flared handle with floral accents. The sixty piece set includes sixteen teaspoons, four soup spoons, eight salad forks, eight dinner forks, one shrimp fork, eight butter spreaders, a master butter knife, two serving spoons, a soup ladle and a sugar spoon, all marked “State House Sterling” to the backs of the handles. They are presented with eight knives, a carving knife, and a carving fork which have stainless blades and sterling hollow handles. The total approximate weight, excluding the pieces with stainless blades, is 54.068 ozt.
