A vintage Charles Eames lounge chair and ottoman by Herman Miller, 1970-1990. The lounge chair and ottoman was originally designed in 1956 by husband and wife team Charles and Ray Eames for Zeeland, Michigan-based manufacturer Herman Miller. The chair and ottoman feature frames of molded plywood with cherry veneer and black bonded leather upholstery. Both feature black metal pedestal bases with 5 legs and 4 legs respectively atop round chrome metal feet. It features a black ‘Herman Miller’ label (in use between 1970 and 1990), as well as a black ‘Hume Modern’ label. Hume Modern is a Los Angeles-based modern furniture restoration firm founded in 1995.
