Antique General Store Spice Chest

Item Details

An antique general store spice cabinet. Painted in black paint with gilt Celtic design borders to each of the drawers, this cabinet has drawers for: rice, best semolina, haricot beans, and more, to the top larger drawers. The smaller drawers tout items such as: pepper, sundries, mixed spices, orange, and ground ginger, for example. The piece rises up on baluster legs and peg feet.

Condition

long abrasions, scuffs and marks to surface; some indentations, distressed finish overall; “Rice” drawer appears to be an old replacement (construction is different)
