Chinese Etched Pewter Teapot
Item Details
An etched Chinese pewter teapot. The lidded teapot features cranes flying among and pine trees, a popular theme representing longevity. The underside bears a partially obscured mark ‘jing xi’ (京錫). The piece dates from the late Qing dynasty (1644-1911) or the Republic period (1912-1949).
- Tested as 83.93% tin, 15.92% lead
Condition
- to fair; some scratches and wear throughout the surface of the item; handle is loose; staining and wear to the inside of the pot.
