Japanese Satsuma Peacock and Peony Covered Stoneware Vase

Item Details

A Japanese Satsuma stoneware covered vase. This vase has an urn shape and features a landscape scene depicting peacocks and peonies, as well as a tree filled with orange leaves and a body of water in the background. The entire design is outlined in a gold tone paint and the lid rim and vase shoulders feature dark red bands with a gilt zig zag design. The vase is unmarked.

- light discoloration; sticker residue on underside; crazing.
