Item Details
A vintage Chinese lacquer ware wedding box. This item has four stackable boxes, each for a different food dish, held together by a carrying handle, attached to the bottom box. It is decorated with a phoenix and dragon, representing the complementary forces of yin and yang, and by extension female and male. It also features the ashtamangala eight auspicious symbols rendered in jewel tones on a black ground. Unmarked.
