A vintage thank you card stamp signed by former First Lady Bess Wallace Truman (1885-1982). The note bears a script message: ‘It was extremely nice of you to remember my birthday and I greatly appreciate your kindness’. It is signed by hand to the lower right. As the wife of Harry S. Truman, she served as First Lady between 1945-1953. She was also the honorary head of the Girl Scouts of America and the Red Cross, and is the longest-lived First Lady at 97 years of age.
