Item Details

A vintage Colonial of Zeeland grandfather clock. The clock was made by the Colonial of Zeeland Company for Marshall Fields & Company and features a cherry finish on select hardwoods and veneers with a swan pediment and urn finial on the bonnet. The clock has glass side panels and fretwork windows with reeded side columns and a glass front door. The door displays a moon phase clock with a colorful hand-painted design and a gold tone face with cherub spandrels surrounding a silvertone dial with raised brass Arabic numbers and serpentine hands set on an etched floral design. Other features of the clock include a brass pendulum and cylinder style weights on chains, an 8-day weight driven movement with Westminiser chimes and the clock stands on a plinth style base with a carved scrollwork overlay and bracket feet. The clock is marked ‘Marshall Fields & Company’ on the face and ‘Colonial of Zeeland’ on the interior and owners manual.
