A gold leaf world map after a map by cartographer Peter Schenk the Elder (1645-1715). This decorative map depicts the entire earth in two hemispheres and is embellished with decorative scenes and scientific projections of the Celestial skies and contemporary astronomical theories. The work is presented ready to hang, under glass with a black mat in a gold tone wood frame. There is a gallery light mounted to the top of the frame.
