The oil painting on copper plate depicts countryside landscape with rural buildings, mountains in the background and two women in colonial dress in foreground in wooded lakeside setting. The painting has palette of blue, white, cream, green, brown and rust with red and blue accents. It is presented in ornate Rococo cast metal frame with worn gilt finish. The painting is signed by hand to lower right, ‘Van Thoren’.
