The Charge of Light Brigade was a battle charge during the Crimean war that was led by Lord Cardigan in the battle of Balacava in 1854. The poem around the base was written by Lord Alfred Tennyson about the charge. The piece was designed by Royal Doulton master sculptor, Alan Maslankowski and has a hand written date of Nov, 1994.
