A black and white photograph on paper of a architectural scene by artist and photographer Don Werner (1929-2010). Depicted is a pagoda style rooftop with intricate detailing and multiple levels scaling upward. Artist’s signature is present to the lower right corner of the matting and the artist’s stamp is to the lower left. Piece is presented matted with a backing board but is without a frame.
Donald Lewis Werner was an American photographer, painter, and graphic designer born in Fresno, California in 1929. He studied at Fresno State College with Adolf and Ella Odorfer and Jane Gale. He was in Who’s Who in American Art and exhibited work at Gallery 1984, the Fresno Art Museum, the National Arts Club, and the American Museum of Natural History. His works can be found in various collections including the Smithsonian Institute and the Fresno Art Museum.
