A pair of circa 15th Century calendar pages from illuminated manuscripes. Included is one manuscript page titled Septembre or September in English, from a French Book of Hours, a liturgical calendar. The manuscript was published in Paris or Rouen in c. 1450 and this page depicts the month of September. The manuscript features elaborate penwork in red, blue, and black with gold leaf embellishments. This page is housed in a foam core mat and wrapped in a clear acetate sleeve. Included is a typed letter with additional information about the piece.
Also included is a vellum leaf from a Dutch Book of Hours. This manuscript was published in Haarlem in c. 1470 and depicts the month of May. The page features penwork in red, green, and purple as well as gold leaf, and mauve, blue, and white paint. This page is also housed in a foam core mat and wrapped in clear acetate sleeve. Included is a typed letter with additional information about the piece.
