A pair of 20th century Chinese imperial guardian lion or ‘Shishi’ statues, cast in concrete with terra cotta painted finish. Often colloquially referred to as ‘Fu Dogs’ or ‘Dog-lions’ in the west, Shishi are a traditional representation for lions in ancient Chinese culture.

- wear, paint loss and chipping are present.
- small crack present.
